happy-list-friday: a short list about how to find your inner balance and keep a peaceful heart

Stop. Stop whatever you are doing for a minute and breathe in and out. Close your eyes and feel how good it feels to really breathe and to stretch your body. Open your eyes and click on play of the video below - isn't this relieving to know that life is not a race and it is not about winning first place? Enjoy the Ride....

  1. Listen to your heart, your feelings and your body! One of the main things that keep us from living our lives with the feel of inner balance and a peaceful heart is that we stop listening to what our heart says, to the aches of our body, to the suppressed feelings that want to be expressed. We stop listening to what is really important for us in our lives - we let ourselves be dictated by the outer world - we all run and speed, we race through our lives without taking a step back to take a breath and enjoy the view. To live each day in a more fullfilled day - remember to stop whatevery you are doing a few times a day, breathe and listen to what you would need right now - is your body thirsty, hungry, tired or you feel like you just want to scream? Make sure you take time to fullfill your needs every day...
  2. Live your life at your own pace...People are always busy, busy, busy - rushing around, getting things done, racing from one meeting to another - have you noticed that sometimes when you know you need to finish things withing 5 minutes your heart starts beating faster, your blood starts rushing through your veins, you maybe even start sweating and the thing, project or task that needed to be finished ended up to be a complete mess and you weren't getting it done in time - pressure and limit of time does not only have negative effects on our body but also on the tasks we are doing - have you ever heard the saying that whenever things need to be done fast, slow down and take your time - it will work out. Try it! If you know how long you will need for things to be done you can plan ahead and save yourself some stressful times...If you have an easy time organizing a big event but struggle with preparing a presentation or writing a speech - you can plan more time for the latter two. Remember everybody is different and everybody struggles with time management sometimes. If people tell you that you are too slow at doing something you could just be like "wanna do it for me?"
  3. Don't let clocks and watches dictate your life If you know you have 2 weeks of vacation time take 5 days and live without a clock - go to bed whenever you feel tired, eat when you are hungry, don't let your life be dictated by time. Maybe you will experience a new side of yourself - maybe you will find out that if you exercise in the evening that it works better for you then getting up an hour earlier before work to work out, maybe you find out that you feel better if you take a nap during lunch time, maybe you will find out that a walk in the morning does wonders for you - try to integrate those things in your daily work life - if you can't try to live like that on weekends...
  4. Are you a night owl or an early riser? Your sleeping rhythm plays a big part in your life and it is a shame that most jobs are nine to five as it often doesn't suit the employee - if you know you are a night owl and are very productive while working at night or late hours - or if you know you are best start working before nine o'clock and be out of the office before five. Wouldn't that be great? And wouldn't it be great if you could talk to your boss about it? Believe that there is the right job for everybody out there. You'll notice how much better you feel when you follow your sleeping rhythm - your work out rhythm - your eating rhythm - when you start living in sync with your inner clock
  5. Don't be mad! Don't be mad about the tiny, shitty moments that might happen to you during your day - if you can't shake off the feeling of being mad - get in your car (if you have one), turn up the music, count to three 1....2.....3.... throw your head back and scream - it is effective and fun - you will feel better soon afterwards ;)
  6. DayDream...It literally is the best thing you could do if you are stressed out - go on a mini vacation in your head - there are no limits! You can go anywhere, you can do anything - whatever you want - everything is possible!
  7. Enjoy more...Life is too good to be mad about it - look at the blue sky and adore the beautiful blue colour and the fun shapes that the clouds are forming, laugh at the sun, look at birds flying away, think about where you want to go for your next vacation, breathe, make happy-sticky-notes on your computer at work to make you smile, take time to laugh, sing to your favorite song, enjoy life as it comes!
